Company lawyer in Alicante and Benidorm
Ongoing corporate advice for companies in Alicante and Benidorm: companies, contracts, investment and disputes.
What a company lawyer actually solves
Almost everything that decides the life of a company runs through a document: the articles it is born with, the agreement signed by those who put up the money, the contract with the client that sustains it, the sale by which it is one day sold. A company lawyer works on those documents before there is a dispute, and on the dispute once there is one.
What we handle day to day: incorporating companies and splitting the equity, shareholders' agreements, general meetings and corporate resolutions, directors' liability, domestic and cross-border commercial contracts, bringing investors in, buying and selling companies, and the disputes that grow out of all of the above.
When it is worth calling
The practical rule is simple: the earlier, the cheaper. These are the moments when half an hour saves months.
- Before incorporating with someone else, to settle who decides what and how each of you can leave.
- When an investor's first draft arrives and you need to understand what is being given away.
- Before signing the framework contract with the client your revenue will depend on.
- When the meeting deadlocks or a shareholder stops contributing.
- On receiving a formal notice, a claim or a lawsuit: there are deadlines that cannot be recovered.
Alicante and Benidorm, in person or by video call
The office is in Benidorm, on Avinguda l'Aigüera, minutes from the centre and with parking nearby. Reception is by appointment only. We see you at the office Monday to Friday or, if you prefer, by video call or telephone, which for most matters works just as well and saves you the journey.
We work in Spanish and in English. A good part of the client base on the Alicante coast is international and their documents arrive drafted in English, with clauses written for another legal system: reading them with both lenses avoids surprises.
What it costs to start
The initial consultation is thirty or sixty minutes and is paid in advance. It exists to understand the matter and tell you whether it has legs. If an engagement follows, it is quoted at a fixed fee whenever the nature of the matter allows, and you are told before we start what is included and what is not.
Advice is only worth something if the person giving it can afford to say no. If your case has no legal foothold, we will tell you on the first call and not on the third invoice.
What to bring to the first meeting
Four things take you a long way in half an hour: the current articles of association, the shareholders' agreement if there is one, the shareholding list with exact percentages, and the particular document that worries you. If you are missing some, it does not matter; the conversation happens anyway.
